What impact does our diet have on the climate? How can changing our diet contribute to a sustainable future? What political and social steps can accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system? We will seek answers to these questions in a public debate "Environmental impacts of diet", which is organized by Green dining room in cooperation with Department of Ecology at the University of Prešov.
📅 When? February 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM
📍 Where? Magister Dining Hall (Ul. 17. novembra 13, University of Prešov)
Participation is free.
Who will discuss?
The invitation was accepted by three experts who have long been dedicated to the topics of climate change, food ethics, and public policies:
🔹 Barbara Bagiová – Human Progress organization (activism and ethical aspects of eating)
🔹 Alexandra Madrová – Planet Lover project (climate impacts of the food industry)
🔹 Iveta Martinkova Stanikova – Member of Parliament of the City of Žilina (policies and public measures)
Why come?
Food is one of the most important areas where we can contribute to mitigating the climate crisis every day. The discussion will offer facts, solutions and space for questions. The aim is to open a public debate on how we can together shape a more sustainable food system – not only in our households, but also in university cafeterias and at the level of local governments.
The discussion will be followed by an interesting tasting of vegan products.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome – students, academics, and the general public!
